Welcome to the Lil Chipmunk Club!

Powered by Fairmount Bicycles

Goals of the Lil Chipmunk Club

  1. Get high quality kids' bikes into the hands of more families.
  2. Never have to worry about your kid being on a bike that's too small or too big. Get the size that fits them now. When they're ready to size up, size up!

How it works

  • You pay an annual membership fee, which allows you to check out a bicycle (like a bicycle library of sorts) and then check it in and exchange it when you need.
  • In the case that your child is not ready to size up at the time of your renewal, you could drop the bicycle off for a complimentary tuneup. Please check out our FAQ section and contact us with any questions.

  • Create an Account by clicking the button in the top right corner.
  • Sign up for a membership for 1 or 2 kids.
  • Reserve a bike of your choosing. We recommend you keep the default reservation length of one year.
  • Come in during our open hours to pick up the bike!

FAQ

  • How much is it?
The annual membership for 2024 is $150/year. When you join the program, you will be “grandfathered in” at whatever the current rate is, meaning that if the price per year changes, your annual membership fee will not be affected.

  • What kinda bikes are a part of the program?
We use high quality, lightweight kids' bikes brands such as Frog, Cleary, Early Rider, and Woom.

  • What happens if I get a flat tire while I have the bike?
All maintenance of the bicycle will be your responsibility. We offer a 10% discount on service for all club bikes. In the case that your child is not ready to size up at the time of your annual renewal, you can also drop the bicycle off for a complimentary tuneup.

  • What happens if the bike goes missing while I have it checked out?
Ah yes, the reality of bicycle theft. You would be responsible for the replacement cost of the bike. We recommend never leaving the bike unlocked, and storing it inside when it's not in use. Some homeowners insurance and renters insurance can help cover the cost of the theft of a bicycle, even if the theft happens outside your home.

  • Why not just buy a bike?
You can! And there are many good new and used bike options out there. However, we found these companies that are making incredible lightweight kids bikes with high quality components that are much easier for kids to learn how to ride on. The only issue is their price tag! Our hope is that this program will help get these bikes into more homes without having to spend the $500-$1000 per bike that they typically cost.
